Maybe you feel stuck in a rut and you don’t feel motivated to do the dang work!
I get it! We’re all human and we all have moments of feeling “off”.
That’s why I suggest doing this ONE thing that will instantly snap you out of your rut.
What was your instant reaction after watching the video?
It sounds a little crazy, but it will rejuvenate you because your clients absolutely LOVE that you are helping them solve the problem they had in their business.
On top of that, it forces you to stop focusing on the problem/the funk you’re in for your own business.
When you finish talking with them, you’ll have a fresh pair of eyes on the situation in your business and you’ll be refreshed with a new energy that you didn’t have before.
Here are 2 other things that you can do to snap out of the funk if you’re having a bad day in your business.
1. Take a Few Deep Breaths and Find Something Else to Work On
This may sound counter productive to some people but one of the biggest reasons why people end up in a funk is because they aren’t taking the time to take care of themselves.
You cannot serve your clients when you do not refill yourself first.
Let me explain.
Let’s look at your cell phone.
When do you normally plug it in?
At 10%? At 20%? At 80% when you’re jumping in the car to go to a meeting or to the office? When you go to bed at night?
We are so protective over our cell phones and are always making sure that we are recharging our battery.
Some of us may even carry a battery pack when we’re going out, so it doesn’t shut off at an inconvenient time.
How often do we take the time to recharge our own battery?
Chances are, you forgot to put yourself back on the charger and now you’re starting to run on fumes.
It’s hard to operate at our peak when we are struggling to simply find the energy to do the work we need to do as business owners.
So, here are the steps when you are running on fumes and need to take a few moments.
Stop whatever you’re doing the minute you notice that you’re in a funk.
Take 3-5 deep breaths.
Do something that will recharge you and allow your creative juices to flow.
Get back to the work that needed to get done in your business
Why do I tell you to take a few deep breaths before finding something that recharges you?
Because, when we feel stressed or anxious, the thing we tend to do is tense up.
We end up shallow breathing and the funk you’re in is your body’s way of telling you that it needs oxygen!
Just like sales is the fuel to fire up your business…
Breathing is how we bring oxygen into your brain!
Once you’ve focused on your breathing, find the one thing that recharges you.
If you’re an introvert, find time to do a quick meditation or watch a quick show. Listen to music or read a book.
If you’re an extrovert and you need to be around people to recharge your battery, find a networking event to go to.
Jump over to Meetup or Eventbrite and see if there’s an event that’s nearby that will allow you to mingle with people so you can get your creative juices flowing.
No matter how you recharge, it’s so important to take the time to recharge so you can snap out of your funk and bring in those sales!
2. Remember Your Why You Went Into Business
The other thing that you can do is to take a moment to look over your old business plan if you have one.
If you don’t have a business plan, take a moment to journal the reason why you got back into business.
It’s so easy to forget why we got started in the first place when everything seems to be piling up.
What was the reason you started your business?
Was it to spend more time with your family?
Was it to make an impact?
Was it because you saw a problem in the industry and you wanted to be the best solution in town?
Fall back in love with the reason why you got started and notice how that helps to snap you out of your funk.
Are you ready to fall back in love with sales?
I have cleared my calendar for anyone reading this and is ready increase their cashflow to fuel their business.
